In March of 1995 the Town Newsletter was born. We are very proud of the newsletter and hope it has accomplished its purpose of providing news and information about town activities to our townspeople. The newsletter is published monthly, we hope you take time to read it and keep up with happenings in our community.

KROTZ SPRINGS SPORTSMAN’S HERITAGE FESTIVAL
SCHOLARSHIP: The festival association is offering a $500.00 academic scholarship to a Krotz Springs Senior attending Port Barre High School. Applications can be picked up at City Hall, the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church office, or by visiting the festival website (kssportsmansheritagefestival.com). Deadline to submit an application is April 23rd.
BBQ & BINGO: The festival BBQ & bingo will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at the Krotz Springs Community Center. Bingo begins at 11am. BBQ dinners are now on sale for $8.00 and includes 1/2 a BBQ chicken, rice dressing, coleslaw, baked beans and a roll. Dinners will be ready for pickup beginning at 4pm. Dinner tickets can be purchased at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church office or from any festival association member. Deadline to purchase dinner tickets is April 16th.
PAGEANT:Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Gary Soileau Community Center, Krotz Springs, La. Our 2016 Miss Queen will compete in 2017 Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals, Queen of Queen’s Pageant! The pageant is open to all girls ages 0-22 years old. Doors will open at 1:00 PM and the Children’s pageant begins at 2pm and the Queen and Teen Queen Pageant will begin at 7pm. On-site registration will be available for ages 0-12 year olds as well as registration for Town Princess. Teen and Miss Queen contestants please see itinerary and contract posted on the website. SENIOR CITIZENS CELEBRATION

Remember that our community Senior Citizens Birthday parties are held every first Tuesday of the month at 1pm in the activity room at City Hall. All seniors over the age of 60 years are encouraged to attend. Hope to see you on April 5!

SESLIE’S PLANTS & SEEDS

Seslie’s Plants & Seeds is now open, it is located at 435 Kimble Street. They have vegetable plants such as tomatoes, peppers, etc. They can help plan your garden for you according to your space, size and shape you want, including how many plants you will need for it. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 3pm. Go see what they have to offer, for more information call 945-4542.

STRAY DOGS

It is illegal to let your dog stray unleashed and unattended in the Town of Krotz Springs. Please respect your neighbors rights regarding loose dogs. Keep your dog penned or otherwise restrained. Also, please accompany your house dog when you let them out. We do have a dog catcher. Please refer complaints to city hall during working hours. The dog will be picked up and the owner will have to pay a fine to retrieve their dog. If the dog cannot be caught the owner will be required to come to court and pay a fine.

UTILITY PAYMENTS

We would like to remind everyone of the town utility payment policy. The policy addresses late payment and non-payment of bills for town utilities (gas, water and sewer).

  1. Payment required by 15th of the month.
  2. A penalty is added after the 15th.
  3. A penalty notice is sent out on the 16th.
  4. A cut off is sent out on the 28th.
  5. Utilities are cut off 5 working days later.
