TOWN OF KROTZ SPRINGS

OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Krotz Springs, State of Louisiana, met in regular session, at the regular meeting place, the town hall, Krotz Springs, Louisiana at 6:30P.M., August 11, 2015.

There were present:    Craig Burghdoff, Cindy Stelly, Nyssa Godwin, Keith Ardoin

There were absent:     Andre Lanclos

The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Krotz Springs were duly convened as the governing authority of said town by Mayor Carroll Snyder, who then stated that the Mayor and Board of Aldermen were ready for the transaction of business.

On motion of Keith Ardoin, and duly seconded by Nyssa Godwin that the minutes of the regular meeting held August 11, 2015 be approved. The motion was carried by unanimous vote.

On motion of Craig Burghdoff, and duly seconded by Cindy Stelly that all outstanding bills be paid. The motion was carried by unanimous vote.

Mayor Carroll Snyder opened the bids for the police units; Chevrolet Sedan Impala VIN#2G1WF55K01909712 and 2008 Dodge Sedan Charger. Derek Fontenot submitted a bid for the Impala for $150.00 (337-331-4340), Jason Noel submitted a bid for the Charger in the amount of $600.00 (337-331-7525),  Jake Smith submitted bid for Charger in the amount of $300.00, Rebecca Deschott $275.00 for Dodge Charger (disqualified because did not follow bid process), and Derek Fontenot submitted bid for Dodge Charger in the amount of $100.00. Derek Fontenot awarded the Impala and Jason Noel awarded the Dodge Charger.

Chief Susie Lacassin reported that all is good in town. Chief Lacassin stated that her department will not be doing security for the plant, she would rather keep her officers for the town due to the influx of people working at the refinery.

On motion of Cindy Stelly, and duly seconded by Keith Ardoin to allow John Dowling access to the towns online bank accounts at American Bank. The motion was carried by roll call vote as follows:

YEAS:             Craig Burghdoff, Cindy Stelly, Nyssa Godwin, Keith Ardoin

NAYS:            None

ABSENT:        Andre Lanclos

On motion of Craig Burghdoff, and duly seconded by Keith Ardoin to remove Tanya Williams on the General Fund Account for online ticket payments at American Bank. The motion was carried by roll call vote as follows:

YEAS:             Craig Burghdoff, Cindy Stelly, Nyssa Godwin, Keith Ardoin

NAYS:            None

ABSENT:        Andre Lanclos

On motion of Cindy Stelly, and duly seconded by Craig Burghdoff to pay Municipal Employee Retirement System on a timely manner. The motion was passed by unanimous vote.

Mayor Snyder presented a letter from Melville concerning a mutual aid agreement between the town and Melville. It will be tabled until the next meeting.

On motion of Keith Ardoin, and duly seconded by Nyssa Godwin to bid out the GEM Truck with no minimum bid. The bids will be opened at the next town meeting on October 13, 2015 at 6:30p.m. The motion was passed by unanimous vote.

Mayor Snyder reported that the State Police said no golf carts are allowed on state roads. We will discuss this at the next town meeting.

Mayor Snyder informed the Council that we need to increase the disconnect fees in hopes to decrease the disconnect notices that are sent out every month. We will look into amending the ordinance.

Ginger Johnson addressed the Council concerning the ambulance on incident that happened at the Community Center. Mayor Snyder informed Mrs. Johnson that she should go to District 1 Fire Board Meeting to express her concerns.

On motion of Cindy Stelly, and duly seconded by Craig Burghdoff that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was carried by unanimous vote.
